Need Help Promoting Your Entertainment Business?

Whether you are operating a karaoke bar, small theater or dance club; you have to promote your business to make it a success. There are countless options to choose from when promoting your business. For the greatest results, choose the options that last the longest and reach the most people – but be careful that you don’t spend so much money in trying to promote your business that you don’t make back what you spend – and always remember, word-of-mouth is still the best way to increase consumer interest.

Enter the Entertainment

Your entertainment business should be right in front of people when they need it the most – for every celebration a person can think of. When there is a holiday, birthday, graduation, marriage or milestone – enter the entertainment. You should use every excuse you can think of for people to come to your business, rather than just spend another boring day at home. Have advertising campaigns devoted to each special occasion and market your advertising to people who are experiencing those occasions – whether you have a birthday mailing list, target graduates or couples who have recently became engaged, make sure your contact information is right there when they need it most.

Word-of-Mouth Works Wonders

Since word-of-mouth is one of the best ways to promote your business, make sure your customers have positive things to say about you and the entertainment you provided them. Once you know they are happy, ask for referrals and even give away small gifts for the customers to share with their friends (or coupons or savings cards). Have a goal of making each event not just a night to remember – but an enviable one as well —- and plant a seed in each guest’s mind of what his or her special night would be like. You may even be able to get permission to post photos online on a social networking site, which really increases interest and gets people talking. Building an entertainment business is a lot of fun. Just remember, you can never stop promoting it!

Great Kids Movies that Adults will Enjoy

More and more “children’s movies” are including adult humor. Adult humor meaning simply humor that probably only an adult is going to understand and find funny The Shrek movies are a good example of this.

Not the Old Classics

Whereas movies like 101 Dalmatians, Sleeping Beauty, Bambi, Winnie the Pooh, Cinderella and other good old Disney standbys were nice, clean, wholesome fun for the kids; aside from the storyline they were not particularly appealing to adults. Shows like Aladdin, with Robin Williams as the genie, started appealing to adults thanks to the comedian’s humor and delivery. Remakes of animated movies using real people are touch and go. Where Cloris Leachman did a great job as Cruella De Ville, not all humans are capable of putting forth the quality performance that an animated character can. Short of perhaps Jim Carrey, not many humans can make the kinds of faces that an animated character can make, for one thing. Humans in general, are simply not as lovable as a soft looking, cuddly cartoon character.

Name Some Names

Some specific titles of movies that both kids and adults will enjoy are as follows: first and foremost is ‘ET: The Extraterrestrial’, ‘Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ with Gene Wilder not that Johnny Depp one, ‘Home Alone’ and, ‘The Santa Clause’, ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’, ‘The Grinch’ I prefer the animated version to Jim Carrey’s live performance… But the cartoon is only 30 minutes long; and of course, ‘Elf’, ‘Toy Story’, ‘Monsters Inc.’, ‘Big’, ‘The Incredibles’, 1967’s ‘The Jungle Book’, 2009’s ‘Up’, and ‘Back to the Future’ with Michael J. Fox.

As with all things, there were some stinkers. A few of those ended up being ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks- the Sqeakquel’, ‘The High School Musical’, ‘Baby Geniuses’, and ‘The Magic Round About’.
