With a five out of five star rating, Book Of Mormon tickets are flying out of the ticket booth at a record pace. There is definite talk of a Tony for this musical/play with its equal opportunity offender type of humor.
The acting is superb, the music expertly orchestrated, the humor is as vulgar, juvenile and offensive as you would expect from the makers of Comedy Central’s South Park; all in all, a definite Tony contender. Standing ovations are common at the end of each performance. Tickets are not only hard to get but have been known to go for outlandish prices. The streets of New York are all but sweltering at this time of year; yet people report standing in line for more than 5 hours just to get tickets to see this show.
The church, Africa, and Disney World—no one and no thing is safe from the humor utilized in this show. If you can’t laugh at yourself, or stand to see things that some Americans hold dear made fun of and laughed at; you’d be better served staying home.
Don’t take yourself and life so seriously; learn to laugh a little by getting Book Of Mormon tickets and taking in the hottest show on Broadway.
